Terms of service

Last updated: 25 October 2026

These terms apply to the websites, web apps and related services we provide. Together with your accepted quote, they form our agreement. If something in your quote differs from these terms, the quote wins.

Who we are

Bravehouse is the trading name of Gonçalo Alexandre Costa Barata, a sole trader registered in Portugal (NIF 269770879), Rua de Kiev 6, 3 esq. Contact: hello@bravehouse.app.

Quotes

Every project starts with a written quote that sets out the scope, price, payment schedule and estimated timeline. Quotes are valid for the period shown on them (normally 30 days).

You accept a quote online, using the link we send you, or in writing. Anything not included in the quote is quoted separately before we do it.

Payments

You pay in the instalments shown in your quote, usually 50% to start and 50% at launch (or 40% to start, 30% at the midpoint and 30% at launch for web apps). We send a payment request for each instalment, due within the number of days stated on the quote.

Work starts once the first payment has arrived. After each payment we issue an official invoice-receipt through certified invoicing software. VAT exempt under article 53 of the Portuguese VAT Code (CIVA).

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it arrives, and the timeline moves accordingly.

What we need from you

Your content (text, photos, logos), access to your domain or existing accounts, and feedback when we ask for it. You confirm that you have the right to use everything you send us.

Delays in receiving content or feedback move the timeline.

Revisions and approval

Your quote includes a set number of revision rounds. You review the site on a private link, leave comments and approve it for launch. Extra rounds, or changes after approval, are quoted separately.

Timeline

Timelines in quotes are estimates based on receiving content and feedback on time. We always keep you informed if anything changes.

Ownership

Once your project is paid in full, you own the design, content and code we create specifically for your website or app. Until then, these rights stay with us.

We may reuse general know-how and non-client-specific tools and components. Third-party items such as fonts, plugins, photos, hosting and your domain stay under their own licences and terms.

Unless you ask us not to, we may show the finished work in our portfolio.

Maintenance and hosting plans

Plans are billed monthly or yearly, as stated in your quote, have the minimum term shown and renew automatically. After the minimum term you can cancel at any time with 30 days’ notice by email.

Each plan includes what is described in your quote. Larger changes and new features are quoted separately.

If you are a consumer

If you hire us as a private individual (not for a business), you can cancel within 14 days of accepting the quote without giving a reason, under Portuguese consumer law (Decree-Law 24/2014). If you ask us to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the work done up to that point.

Cancelling a project

Either of us can end a project in writing. You pay for the work done up to that point; any payments already made for work not yet done are refunded.

Liability

We build carefully and test our work, but websites rely on third-party services (hosting, domains, email providers) that we don’t control, and we’re not responsible for their outages.

Our total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid us for it, and we’re not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Confidentiality and your data

We keep your business information confidential. How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy policy.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. We’ll always try to resolve any issue with you directly first. Information about complaints and dispute resolution is in our legal notice.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your project is the one in place when you accepted your quote.
